The project "Points of Calm" is an exhibition inviting viewers to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of harmony and inspiration. The exhibition brings together landscapes and portraits, executed in the technique of hatching — a special artistic approach where each image is formed by delicate lines and strokes that intertwine into a unified composition. For the artist, this process serves as a meditative practice that helps achieve inner balance. The hatching technique imparts a unique rhythm and plasticity to the works, revealing a new way of interacting with space and light.
Exhibition Context and Its Formation: The underlying theme of Olga Hladushevskaya's artistic practice in "Points of Calm" is the exploration of harmony through the meditative act of creating art. Her works reflect the inner state of a person and the ability to maintain balance in the turbulent world. The foundation of the exhibition is based on landscapes and portraits, created through hatching, embodying the process of accumulating and transforming the energy of calm. The exhibition consists of six works completed in the past two years. This allows viewers to follow the artist's journey during wartime and trace her search for tranquility and harmony through the subtle interconnections between form, light, and space. The exhibition narrative begins with portrait works, which demonstrate the artist's relationship with the figure of a woman, titled "Faith," "Hope," and "Love." Next, the landscape series is presented, focusing on harmony conveyed through the technique of small, rhythmic strokes.
Quote from the Artist or Curator: As the artist explains the meaning of this exhibition: "This is not just a way to share my vision of harmony but an attempt to show how art can serve as a tool for inner healing and meditation. For me, this exhibition is a moment of reflection, asking whether the art of strokes and details can touch the viewer, offering them a moment of peace and connection with themselves. It is also a manifesto about the significance of simplicity and concentration in our chaotic world."
Why Should Visitors Attend the Exhibition? In today’s world, where constant haste and information noise prevail, the exhibition offers a unique opportunity to pause and immerse oneself in a state of inner silence. The artist's works invite contemplation, where each stroke serves as a bridge between the chaotic outer world and the harmonious inner world. Socially, the project reminds us of the importance of seeking balance in times of uncertainty and crisis. The exhibition not only showcases the artist's refined craftsmanship but also challenges the viewer with the question: can we find peace within ourselves despite the challenges of modern life?
