Leonid Maadyr-ool

It seems that he consists entirely of contrasts: the Slavic name Leonid and the Tuvan surname Maadyr-ool; Buddhism and Christianity; professionalism and negligence; perseverance and courage.

His paintings are also built on contrasts - semantic, spatial-temporal, color. The predominant majority of works are landscapes, but with an idea and history: the artist weaves the threads of epochs, places and moods.

Most of all, Maadyr-ool does not like to draw “candy wrappers”, that is, to create artistic goods for masses in order to ‘just close holes on the walls.
