Seraphim Charkin

Serafym Charkin (born 1945, Sumy) is a well-known Ukrainian artist. He graduated from the Leningrad Art School named after V. Serov in 1973, where he studied under M. Holdin. He has participated in numerous art exhibitions in Ukraine and Europe. In 2017, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine. He lives and works in Odesa.

The nude series by Serafym Serafymovych stands out for its remarkable dynamism. It gravitates toward monumentality; the compositions are stable, balanced, and methodical. The color palette is expressive and emotional. In its scope, the artist’s painting recalls the art of the French Cubists and Fauvists.
