
Every year the French city of Sanlis celebrates the Day of Anne of Kyiv.
On May 25, 2025, among other events, the program will include the opening of an exhibition by Danylo Movchan from Lviv entitled "The Biblical Battle. War in Ukraine".
The exhibition will be held in the Centre Anne de Kyiv, located in the Church of St. Borys and St. Hlib (Chapelle de la Charité) built in 1668, which is also the current Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, opened by Bishop Borys Gudziak, next to the Abbey founded by Anna of Kyiv (daughter of Prince Yaroslav the Wise) in 1060.
The exhibition "Biblical Battle. War in Ukraine" will feature one of the most significant series of works by contemporary Ukrainian artists about today's war.
About the exhibition
From the first days of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Danylo Movchan from Lviv began to chronicle the events.
Using his style, which is connected with his iconographic work, Danylo creates truly sacred images.
The sacrifice of Ukrainians, the heroism of Ukrainians, light and darkness, painful and biblical in scale confrontations, historical events.
Danylo's brilliant series of works has received reactions around the world.
His works become illustrations of poetry, avatars in social networks, wallpapers for conferences and forums about the war in Ukraine, are published in dozens of foreign media, and are exhibited in important art exhibitions.
The series of watercolors "War in Ukraine", which Danylo started on March 3, 2022 and continues to this day, has been a participant in many exhibitions in Europe.
The exhibition is initiated by Victoria Hrynchyshyn and Anna Kanter, co-founders of the Anna Kyivska Cultural Center.

The exhibition will be open to the public after Anne of Kyiv Day and the opening event during church masses, and by appointment with the leaders of the Anne of Kyiv Center.
