On April 9, 2026, the NU ART Gallery will open the exhibition project "Silence and Turbulence". The show invites visitors into a multidimensional space of Ukrainian culture, expressed through painting that captures both pivotal and inspiring moments of history. The focus is on the 20th and 21st centuries — periods marked by profound change, challenges, and an ongoing search for inner balance.
The concept of the exhibition is built on contrast. On one side are works filled with tension and драмatic intensity, reflecting on wars, revolutions, and social upheavals. On the other are pieces centered on aesthetics and harmony, offering space for contemplation and emotional renewal.
Despite the complexity of historical circumstances, Ukrainian art has preserved its ability to perceive and celebrate beauty in everyday life. A significant part of the exhibition is dedicated to these moments of "silence." The paintings create a sense of inner refuge and remind viewers of the value of simple experiences — light, nature, stillness. In these works, artists appear not as reformers but as guardians of enduring meanings that sustain us in difficult times.
Special attention is given to the figure of the Artist as a sensitive interpreter of their era. The exhibition features:
"Silence and Turbulence" does not offer a single interpretation. Instead, it creates an open space for personal experience — between responding to the challenges of the time and striving for inner calm. It is a reflection on the fullness of life, where tension and balance, anxiety and harmony coexist, shaping the unique landscape of Ukrainian art.
As the organizers note, the aim of the project is to create an environment where one can both reflect on complex issues and find emotional restoration — a balance between external turmoil and inner stillness.
Among the participating artists are prominent figures of Ukrainian art: O. Novakivskyi, A. Erdeli, S. Shyshko, F. Zakharov, S. Charkin, V. Khrushch, V. Loboda, D. Nahurnyi, V. Rybachuk, M. Sokolov, A. Skorubskyi-Kandynskyi, O. Hnylytskyi, A. Bludov, N. Korf-Ivaniuk, and others.
The exhibition runs until May 16, 2026.
Admission is free.
