Maryana Klochko. The Chaos of The Coming Day

Maryana Klochko is an artist, composer, and vocalist who works at the intersection of visual art, sound, music, and film. She will present her second solo exhibition at the Green Sofa Gallery.

Born in the Lviv region, a graduate of the Lviv National Academy of Arts (2015), Maryana currently lives and works in Kyiv. Her new multi-artistic project combines graphics, photography, and audiovisual works.

Mariana's graphic works from 2017-2025 are made with simple tools - liners, pens, felt-tip pens, charcoal - and capture not events but the way we think through images, internal states - delay, tension, blurring between the outside and the inside. They are united by the observation of what is not always captured.

Maryana Klochko's photographs from 2016 to 2025 are about her love for noticing moments when nothing seems to be happening, but in this very ‘absence of an event’ something begins to sound.

The audiovisual work IT FEELS LIKE THE END OF THE WORD, created together with the American Eden Girma, became a way to talk about remoteness and closeness, about memory, loss and dialogue that takes place across time and distance. The images of Kyiv and New York intertwine to form a common dream space where boundaries disappear.
