Hans Scheib

Hans Scheib is a German artist recognized for his expressive sculptures created in wood and bronze, as well as for his graphic work. He was born in 1949 in Potsdam and spent his formative years in Berlin. In 1976, he completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden.


Scheib continues to live and work in Berlin. His artworks are held in numerous prominent public and private collections worldwide, including major institutions in Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig, Mannheim, and Beijing. Over the course of his career, he has received several notable distinctions, such as the second prize from the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin in 1995, the Egmont Schaefer Prize for drawing in 2014, and the Bautzen Art Award in 2015.
