For artist, art historian, and lecturer Khrystyna Pryymak, born in the town of Sokal in the Lviv region, the choice of a subject for her creative work and research was obvious — the folk art of the Sokal region.
During her research, Khrystyna was constantly amazed and inspired by the highly developed aesthetic sense and understanding of beauty among local craftsmen, particularly potters. Their perfect sense of rhythm and proportion impressed her deeply.

Over time, an idea emerged to reinterpret and integrate motifs of Sokal ceramics into her own paintings. Khrystyna Pryymak used them as symbols, infusing them with her own philosophy. This is, perhaps, the artist’s way of preserving and recalling the incredible heritage of Sokal ceramics of the 19th — early 20th centuries.
The painting exhibition by Khrystyna Pryymak will open at the Green Sofa Gallery on November 11 at 6:00 PM.
