The series "One Whole" is an exploration of unity as the primordial state of human existence — not merely as a relationship between two people, but as a profound connection that transcends the boundaries of the individual body. Inspired by the biblical image of merging, this series considers union as a return to a common source, to the moment before existence was divided into "self" and "other".
At the center of these works is the body as a space of memory. It is through corporeality that a person first experiences connection, even before becoming aware of themselves as separate. This experience remains on a deep level and manifests itself in the desire for closeness, touch, and reciprocity. In my works, I explore this state not as a physical act, but as an inner process — a moment when the boundaries between two beings become fluid, and identity itself becomes unstable.
As in folk rituals, where movement and rhythm create a collective experience, union here emerges as a quiet yet intense ritual. Through the intertwining of forms, the fragmentation of bodies, and tense compositions, I seek to convey not fusion itself, but the process of return — to a wholeness that existed before division.
The series "One Whole" continues my exploration of memory and unity, shifting it from the collective experience of culture into a deeply personal and bodily dimension. It is an attempt to reflect on intimacy as a form of memory — a state in which a person does not merge with another, but instead recalls their original wholeness.
