Gattamelata was an Italian condottiero and served a number of Italian city-states including the Republic of Venice. Sculptor Donatello depicted him as a hero of the Renaissance with a restrained face of heroic readiness. Gattamelata resembles a valorous guardian with a face of a strict and thoughtful wiseman. The author managed to portray the ultimate hero regardless of the nationality. A hero is someone who fights for human rights, for the right to live bestowed upon one from birth.

Today, Gattamelata is portrayed in yellow-and-blue because he’s fighting for the right of my Ukraine to exist, to live and be independent.

You may wonder why are his eyes missing? This is to emphasise the absurdity of war that leaves nothing living behind, so it is better not to see the outcomes it brings.
