Artwork from the series War is Chaos
The tragedy of Mariupol city. Now I Understand why artists like to depict war in a limited colour palette - black, red and white.
I went there to meet my fiance’s family and relax by the seaside when I was a young lady.
Nothing that I saw back then exists anymore. Happy people that lived there, like everywhere else on the planet, have been replaced with nothing but burnt land. Nothing but death is there now.
After having completed The Mariupol artwork (the black skull) I couldn’t settle for a couple of days until I realised that life goes on despite anything and there is no beginning without an end. This is how The White Skull was born; flowers grow even on the black burnt land.
Life is worth living, overcoming difficulties, and above everything else – life is worth blossoming and blooming.
