Kateryna Kopeikina is a young Ukrainian artist who works mainly with painting. Her practice focuses primarily on the profound nature of human relationships. In her visual practice, she reinterprets the human body as a canvas that can be adapted to contemporary feelings and traumas.
In her practice, the human being is a space for modification, and painting is a way to open it up to the outside world, which is accustomed to hiding behind cultural stereotypes and categories of normality. Her paintings deal with themes such as sexuality, horror, sensuality, and fear of existence. Personal relationships in Katya's art are reformatted into a horror story and at the same time reveal to society its anxiety about its own perversions and desires.
