Mariko Gelman

Mariko Helman is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in Prague. She is a co-author of the Exposure project (World press photo award 2016), author of a series of workshops for families displaced by the Fukushima nuclear disaster (Kyoto, Osaka, Yokohama (Azamino Art Forum)), protagonist of the documentaries Maria and Fukushima and Moya (Kansai TV), and winner of the Nomura Special Prize (Art to You, Sendai).

Mariko is a person with special needs, she has a disability, and many of her projects are dedicated to highlighting the problems of people who are "invisible" to society.
