Roman Petruk is a master of deeply psychological artistic portrayals of the human image through paint. He skillfully combines the classical school of drawing and painting with an expressively symbolic style of visualizing images.
He works in painting, graphics, monumental and decorative art, sacred art, and pysanka art (Ukrainian egg painting).
The author of over 1,000 works of fine and applied art, more than 300 of which were included in the album-monograph "Canvas of the Soul", published in 2020.
He has organized and held more than 10 solo exhibitions and has participated in over 100 national and international exhibitions and plein air events. He has repeatedly served as a jury member for visual and applied art competitions. He is also an expert on the Expert Councils of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
His works are held in museum and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
Born on October 14, 1991 in Lutsk.
In 2015, graduated with honors from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, received a Master's degree in Fine Arts, qualified as a painter-painter-monumentalist, researcher, teacher.
In 2018, he graduated from the assistantship-traineeship of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in the specialty "Fine Arts".
He is a professor of the Department of Monumental and easel painting at the Kyiv State Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design named after Mykhailo Boychuk, as well as a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
