Sakaliuk Volodymyr Mykolayovych was born in Kirovohrad region. He lives and works in Odesa.

Since childhood he was fond of painting. In 1982, he entered the Faculty of Art and Graphics of the Odesa Pedagogical Institute. Already in his student years, he participated in group exhibitions in the city, regional and republican exhibitions.

He works as an associate professor at the Odesa Ushynskyi Institute of Architecture and Art. All these years he has been showing himself not only as a successful teacher, but also as a creative person. He is a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. In his works, he conveys an exquisite perception of the nature of Ukraine.

Techniques - oil, watercolour; genres - landscape, portrait and still life. His works are kept in museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.

Active creative activity since 1986, participation in gliders of various levels, both national and international.

In 2005, the work "Boats" 50x70 cm. was purchased by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.

He has been repeatedly awarded with diplomas and certificates of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, the city and regional councils of Odesa and Odesa region.

He was also awarded the medal "For Service to Art" by the All-Ukrainian Association "Krayina" on 21 September 2020.

Awarded the second degree Labour Glory Medal of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine on 19 September 2022.

Since 2019, I have been acting as the Head of the Painting Section of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, as well as the Deputy Head of the Odesa National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

On 20 December 2020, he was awarded the honorary title of Honoured Artist of Ukraine.
