Serdyuk Borys Petrovych was born on June 30, 1960 in Konotop, Sumy region. He graduated from Yuriyiv-Polish Pedagogical College (art and graphic department) in 1984.
While studying, the future artist worked hard, and as a result - the opening of his first personal exhibition in the walls of the school, which consisted of landscapes and portraits.
After graduation, he worked at the school as a teacher of drawing and painting, a teacher of painting and wood carving at the school of arts, an artist-designer, an artist-designer, and the chief artist of Konotop. But wherever Borys Petrovych worked, he never left painting. He wanted to embody his thoughts in his works, to place his inner world. But there was not enough time. So, in 2000. Borys Serdiuk left his last job and became a freelance artist. From that moment he started a new countdown in his creativity.
In 2003, the artist took part in the exhibition "Ways of Creativity" dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Kazimir Malevich in Konotop.
In 2005, he presented his personal exhibition "Artistic gifts to the native land" in Konotop. On the artist's canvases, you can recognize the lovely and close corners of his native land - pine forests, quiet picturesque villages, sloping banks of the Yezuch and the vastness of the fields. Borys Serdiuk manages to combine poetic worldview and deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic performance. But the artist wants even greater perfection and such a moment comes when he first gets to the plein air in Gurzuf. Looking at how experienced fellow artists work together, he goes through a turning point in his creativity, changes the technique of his works. He tries to paint in the style of impressionism.
In 2012, the artist presented his new works to the citizens of Konotop and called the exhibition "Picturesque Horizons. Starting point". From this period begins the creative rise of the artist: Kyiv 2012 - laureate of the "Emerald Lyre" Prize. M. Krolevets International Literary and Art Festival "Krolevets towels", Kyiv 2013. Laureate of the Makarenko Prize "Sumshchino - my love", personal exhibition "Picturesque horizons. By the ways of plein airs" in Shostka. The artist's paintings are characterized by a special light, a subtle sense of nature and the inner world of man.
A new round in the work of Borys Serdiuk began in connection with the move to Kremenchuk in 2013, where the beauty of the Poltava region was added to the spiritual harmony. In half a year, the author presents in a new city the first personal exhibition of his works "Amazing world of painting. In 2015 - participant of the VIII All-Ukrainian historical and cultural festival "Mamai-fest" in Dniprodzerzhynsk, where his works were exhibited: "Sunny Day" 2014, "Bank of the Psel" 2014, "Magpies" 2015, "Breath of Winter" 2015, "Road in the Forest" 2013, "Boats" 2010.
In March 2015, the artist exhibits his new exhibition "Love and Joy of Being" in Komsomolsk, where bright colors on the canvases echo with intermediate tones. First of all, the artist abandoned the contour, replacing it with small separate and contrasting strokes. In November 2015. Borys Serdiuk opened a new huge exhibition "Colors of the native land" (162 works) in the art gallery of Kremenchuk. The press wrote about his works: "His paintings surprise with colors. And not only by their variety, but also by the amount of substance applied to the canvas. Bright, lively, voluminous."
Borys Serdiuk can always be seen with a sketchbook on the streets of the city, or at the easel in the studio. Hard work, love for his work makes miracles. The artist owns not only a palette knife and a brush. He also tries himself in pastel and watercolour painting. Thanks to trips to plein airs in different parts of Ukraine, Borys Petrovych paints a lot of landscapes. But he does not stop there. For many it was a discovery that the artist paints portraits, still lifes. For all the time of his creativity he wrote hundreds of portraits. The personal exhibition "Kremenchuk - an autograph with paint ...", which took place in September 2017, was presented with 75 works, where there were portraits. In 2018, a personal exhibition in the city of Horishni Plavni "Confession in paints".
The artist is a regular participant of the plein air "Malevich's Colors" in Konotop. Konotop, participant of the plein air "Plein air named after Kozhedub", "Spring caper", Shostka. Shostka, "Baida - SICH", m. Vyshnevets, Kamenetz-Podolsk, All-Ukrainian Symposium in Slavsko, and others, group, personal, international and all-Ukrainian exhibitions.
For many years Borys Serdiuk presented his paintings to museums, galleries, libraries. Thus, the author's work "T.H. Shevchenko in Baturyn", 2014, oil on canvas 90x140 was presented to the stock collection of the National Historical and Cultural Reserve "Hetman's Capital". The work "Sunflowers" (2016), oil on canvas 42x60 was presented to the Art Gallery of Kremenchuk named after Nataliia Yuzefovych. The work "Sunny Day" - to the Department of Arts of the M. Gorky UMB of Kremenchuk.
In December 2018, he presented his painting "Sea Waves" to the crew of the artillery armored boat "Kremenchuk", which serves in the Sea of Azov, to support the morale of the sailors. In December 2018, he took part in the painting contest "City on the Easel" in Horishni Plavni. In December 2018, Borys Serdiuk was included in the world art space of the art platform in New York, where his seven works were included in the catalogue "Painting & Graphics".
