Oleksandr Olkhov was born on May 5, 1956 in the village of Konkovo, Donetsk region.

From 1971 to 1975 he studied at the Luhansk Art School.

From 1975 to 1981 he studied at the Kyiv State Art Institute (studio of prof. V. Puzyrkov).

Since 1988 - member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

Since 1980 - participant of all-Ukrainian and international exhibitions.

In 2011, he became the Laureate of the Kyiv Art Prize named after Serhii Shyshko in the field of fine arts.

In 2013 he received the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine.

In 2014 he received an Honorary Diploma of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.

In 2019 he became the Laureate of the Tatiana Yablonska Prize.

In 2022, he received a Certificate of Inclusion in the Book of Patrons of the National Conservation Area of St. Sophia of Kyiv.

Currently lives and works in Kyiv.
