Katsman Evgeniy

Katsman Evgeny Alexandrovich (July 8, 1890 - July 31, 1976).

Painter and graphic artist, portraitist. He worked in the direction of socialist realism. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1969), Corresponding Member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1947). One of the founders and leaders of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (AHRR), whose leadership also included I. Brodsky, Yu. Repin (son of Ilya Repin), A. Grigoriev, P. Radimov. For a number of years, Yevgeny Katsman was the general secretary of the AHRR.
In 1962, his book of memoirs «Notes of an Artist» was published.
